今日はどこへ行くか…悩み中。候補はピサヌロークかコーンケンかルーイなんだけど…。
Still undecided about where to go today. The options are Phitsanulok, Khon Kaen, or Loei…
コーンケンとルーイはピサヌロークから乗り換えが必要のようだ。
It seems I’ll need to transfer in Phitsanulok to get to either Khon Kaen or Loei.
コーンケンはスコータイからもバスがあるが、1日2本だけ。
There are buses from Sukhothai to Khon Kaen too, but only two per day.
ルーイはピサヌロークまで行ってから、バスターミナルで確認かな。
As for Loei, I’ll probably have to go to Phitsanulok first and check at the terminal.
うまくいけば、今日のうちに乗り換えて移動もあり。
If things go smoothly, I might transfer and move on today.
最悪、ピサヌロークで一泊しようと思う。
Worst case, I’ll just spend the night in Phitsanulok.
まだチェックできてないから、ピサヌロークの宿は予約していない。
I haven’t checked yet, so I haven’t booked a place to stay in Phitsanulok.
宿に戻ってきたら、自転車でベトナム、ラオス、タイを旅してるという西洋人のおじさんに会った。
Back at the guesthouse, I met a Western man who’s been cycling through Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand.
すげータフだなー。最近バックパックの重さも辛くなってきた私には無理だな。
That’s seriously tough. I’ve been struggling just carrying my backpack lately—I couldn’t do what he’s doing.
9:30、スコータイのバスターミナルからピサヌロークへ出発。
At 9:30, I left Sukhothai’s bus terminal for Phitsanulok.
10:45頃に到着。
I arrived around 10:45.
バス代は59B（約295円）。近いので1時間ほどで着いた。
The fare was 59 baht (about ¥295). It’s close—just about an hour’s ride.
バスターミナルで次の行き先をチェックしたが、いい時間が見つからない。
I checked the next destinations at the bus terminal, but couldn’t find a good departure time.
行き先を変更するか考え中。
I started thinking about changing my destination.
ここでもう一泊して考えるかなー…。
Maybe I’ll just stay here another night and think it over…
悩みどころ。
It’s a tough call.
出発は日中帯だけど…目的地に着くのは夜中。
The buses leave during the day, but I’d arrive at my destination late at night.
途中の街で一旦降車して宿泊しようとしたが、値段や場所の問題もあっていい宿が見つからない。
I considered stopping over in a town along the way, but couldn’t find a good place to stay due to price or location.
とりあえず、ビール飲んで考える。
For now, I’ll have a beer and think it through.
バスターミナルで考えること1時間。
I spent an hour at the terminal just thinking.
しかし、考えがまとまらない。
But I couldn’t make up my mind.
今日は諦めて、ここピサヌロークに1泊することに決めた。
In the end, I gave up and decided to stay the night in Phitsanulok.
以前泊まったことのある宿へ、歩いて向かう。
I walked to a guesthouse I’d stayed at before.
宿に着いて、「予約していないけど、ベッドはありますか？」って聞いたら、
When I arrived, I asked, “I don’t have a reservation, but do you have a bed available?”
オーナーが私のことを覚えていてくれて、
The owner actually remembered me!
「前に泊まったことあるよね？日本人だよね？いつだっけ？」って聞いてきた。
They said, “You’ve stayed here before, right? You’re Japanese, yeah? When was it?”
「多分、去年かなー。」って話をして、ベッドは空いていたので無事、今日の宿が確定。
I said, “Probably last year,” and since they had a bed available, I was all set for the night.
荷物を置いてから、すぐにビールを飲みに行く。
After dropping off my luggage, I headed out right away for a beer.
タイではアルコール販売禁止時間だったけど、宿の近くに売ってくれるところを知っていたので、そこに向かう。
It was during Thailand’s alcohol sales ban hours, but I knew a place near the guesthouse that would still sell it, so I went there.
以前に来た時と変わらないおじいさんがお店をやっていた。
The same old man from my last visit was still running the shop.
ビールを格安でゲット。店前で飲ませてもらう。
I got a beer at a great price and drank it right in front of the shop.
このおじいさん、あと何年ここで商売してるかな。
I wonder how many more years this old man will keep running his shop.
また、このおじいさんのところでビール買って飲みたいな。
I hope I can come back and have a beer here again someday.
そしたら、宿のオーナーが通りかかって、「それは朝食かい？」って聞いてきた。
Then the guesthouse owner passed by and asked, “Is that your breakfast?”
私は「そうだよ、朝食ビール！」って笑って返した。
I laughed and said, “Yep, breakfast beer!”
そろそろ、洗濯物を洗いたい。
It’s about time I did some laundry.
ピサヌロークにはランドリーサービスが少ない。
There aren’t many laundry services in Phitsanulok.
宿でもサービスはやってるけど、少しだけ高め。
The guesthouse offers it, but it’s a bit pricey.
以前、この町に泊まった時にお願いしたお店に行ってみた。
I went to the shop I used last time I stayed in this town.
なんと…。閉店していた。悲しい。
But… it had closed down. So sad.
天気もいいし、町の洗濯機で洗って、宿に干せばいいかな？
The weather was nice, so I figured I could use a coin laundry and hang my clothes at the guesthouse.
と、宿近くにある洗濯機が置いてあるお店へ。
I found a place with washing machines near the guesthouse.
なんと、このお店、洗ってから畳んでくれるサービス付きらしい。
To my surprise, they offered a wash-and-fold service.
自分で洗濯物を干さないといけないと思っていたので、うれしい誤算。
I thought I’d have to hang everything myself—what a pleasant surprise!
今日の夕方には仕上がるらしい。
They said it would be ready by this evening.
宿で少し休んでから町を散策。川沿いを歩いたり、寺を見に行ったり。
After a short rest at the guesthouse, I wandered around town—strolling along the river and visiting some temples.
結局最後は、ビールを飲みながら宿の屋上でまったりしていた。
In the end, I just relaxed on the rooftop with a beer.
そしたら、オーナーが「今日は他のゲストとナイトマーケットに行くけどどうする？」って。
Then the owner asked, “We’re going to the night market with some other guests—want to come?”
やることは何もないので、行くことにする。
I didn’t have any plans, so I decided to join.
夕方になって、総勢11人でナイトマーケットへ出発。
By evening, a group of 11 of us headed out to the night market.
しかし、この大人数なので3台のタクシーに分散して向かう。
Since there were so many of us, we split into three taxis.
ナイトマーケットはこの町の全員が来ているんじゃないか？と思うぐらい混んでいる。
The night market was so crowded, it felt like the whole town was there.
しかし、たいしたものは売ってない。
But honestly, there wasn’t much worth buying.
その後、レストランでビール。
Afterward, we went to a restaurant for some beer.
アゼルバイジャン、フランス、ベルギー、イングランド、アメリカと多様な人種が集まり、楽しかった。
It was a fun mix of people—Azerbaijan, France, Belgium, England, the U.S.—all gathered together.
アゼルバイジャンの人とは今までの海外旅行でも初めて会った。
It was my first time meeting someone from Azerbaijan during all my travels.
すごいところから旅行に来てるんだなー。
They came from so far away—pretty amazing.
バーで飲んだ後、他のゲストはもう一軒行くらしいが、私は眠かったので一人で宿に戻ることにした。
After drinks at the bar, the others wanted to go to another place, but I was sleepy, so I headed back alone.
宿に戻ってから、屋上で一人でもう1本ビールを飲んでから就寝。
Back at the guesthouse, I had one last beer on the rooftop by myself before going to bed.
