朝起きて宿の周りを散歩しながら朝食を探しました。
まだ開いていないバーのカウンターには猫がいて、まるで朝の散歩をしているようでした。
朝早い時間は人も車も少なく、静かで心地よいです。
I woke up and strolled around the hostel looking for breakfast.
A cat was sitting on the counter of a closed bar, as if it was also enjoying a morning walk.
Early mornings are peaceful, with few people and cars.
昔の砦まで歩いて一服。
食べ物は良いものが見つからなかったので、宿近くのセブンイレブンでホットサンドと牛乳を購入しました。
I walked to an old fortress and took a short break.
Since I couldn’t find good food, I bought a hot sandwich and milk at a nearby 7-Eleven.
現金を少し下ろそうとATMで3,000バーツ（約15,000円）をキャッシング。
アプリでは1バーツ4.8円のレートでしたが、ATMでは4.7円。
円安とタイの物価上昇を実感しました。
I withdrew 3,000 baht (about 15,000 yen) from an ATM. The app showed 1 baht = 4.8 yen,
but the ATM rate was 4.7 yen.
I really felt the weaker yen and rising prices in Thailand.
宿に戻って休憩。短パンを探しましたが荷物に見当たらず…。
以前ベトナム旅行でも忘れて現地購入したことがあり、今回も買うしかないかと考えました。
そこで洋服屋が集まるプラトゥーナムへ行くことに。
Back at the hostel, I rested and looked for my shorts, but couldn’t find them.
I had forgotten them once before on a Vietnam trip and bought locally.
So I decided to head to Pratunam, a district full of clothing shops.
カオサンは電車の駅が近くにないため、移動はバスかタクシー。今回はバスを選び、
約1時間で到着。
短パンは安くても1000円ほどで希望より高かったので購入は見送りました。
Since Khao San has no nearby train station, transportation is by bus or taxi.
I took the bus and arrived in about an hour.
Shorts cost around 1,000 yen, higher than I wanted, so I skipped buying them.
宿に戻り、アルコール販売禁止時間前にビールを購入。
外で飲みながら休憩しました。
スタッフにWi-Fi接続の不具合を聞いたところ原因不明とのこと。
調べてみるとルーターの制限が原因のようで、中国仕様のルーターを使っているのではと推測しました。
Back at the hostel, I bought beer just before the alcohol sales ban time and relaxed outside.
I asked the staff about Wi-Fi issues, but they didn’t know.
After checking, it seemed the router had restrictions, possibly because it was a Chinese model.
その後ベッドで休みながら今後の予定を考えました。
本当はパノムルン遺跡を見にブリーラムへ行きたかったのですが、宿泊費が高く断念。
代わりに明日はカンチャナブリーへ行くことにしました。
Later, while resting in bed, I planned my next steps.
I wanted to visit Phanom Rung Historical Park in Buriram,
but accommodation was too expensive.
Instead, I decided to head to Kanchanaburi tomorrow.
夕方は豚肉炒めの夕食。
玉ねぎくらいしか野菜が入っていませんでしたが、安いので納得。
宿は立地が良く安いものの、内部は暗く、
バスルームは汚れが目立ち、ペーパー補充もなし。
同室のゲストも少し質が悪い印象でした。
あと一泊だけなので我慢して眠りました。
In the evening, I had stir-fried pork for dinner.
It only had onions as vegetables, but the price was cheap.
The hostel was affordable and well-located, but the interior was dark,
bathrooms were dirty, and toilet paper was never replenished.
The roommates weren’t great either.
Since it was just one more night, I endured and went to sleep.
