品川から横須賀線・総武線直通列車で成田へ向かいました。思ったより乗客が多く、
新橋までは混雑していました。成田までの道のりは長く、さらに車内は暖房が効いていないようで寒かったです。
I took the Yokosuka-Sobu Line direct train from Shinagawa to Narita. Surprisingly, the train was crowded until Shimbashi.
The ride felt long, and without heating inside, it was quite cold.
成田に到着後、チェックインカウンターへ。スタッフに「席を無料で変更できませんか？」と聞いたところ、有料でしか対応できないとのこと。
タイでは無料で変更してもらえた経験があるので伝えましたが、「権限がない」との返答でした。
今回は窓側席でしたが、できれば通路側が良かったです。
Upon arrival at Narita, I went to the check-in counter and asked if I could change my seat for free.
The staff said only paid changes were possible.
I mentioned that in Thailand I had experienced free changes, but they explained they had no authority.
My seat was by the window, though I would have preferred the aisle.
出国審査は空いていてスムーズ。免税店で事前予約していたタバコを受け取りました。
予約すると5%割引になるのでお得です。その後ラウンジへ。
ドライカレーを頼みましたが水っぽく、唐揚げも衣が厚くて好みではありませんでした。
ビールを4杯飲み、最後にナッツやポテトチップスをつまみにしました。
Immigration was smooth with no lines. I picked up pre-ordered cigarettes at the duty-free shop, saving 5%.
Then I went to the lounge. The dry curry was soggy, and the fried chicken had thick batter I didn’t like.
I had four beers, finishing with nuts and chips.
搭乗は定刻通り。今回は後方の二人席で窓側のはずでしたが、既に人が座っていて確認するとその人のチケットは通路側。
結果的に私は通路側に座れたのでラッキーでした。
Boarding started on time.
My seat was supposed to be the window in a two-seat row, but someone was already there.
Checking their ticket, it turned out they had the aisle seat. Luckily, I got the aisle seat I wanted.
機内ではエンタメがなく、USBコンセントも禁止。
ウォークマンとダウンロードした雑誌で過ごしましたが2時間ほどで飽き、ビールが欲しくなりました。
350mlのビールとつまみで1000円以上と高額でしたが、タイバーツで支払い。
結果的に空港バス用の小銭ができて助かりました。
Onboard, there was no entertainment and USB charging was prohibited.
I passed time with my Walkman and downloaded magazines, but after two hours I got bored and craved beer.
A 350ml beer with snacks cost over 1000 yen, expensive, but I paid with Thai baht.
This gave me change useful for the airport bus.
ほぼ定刻通りにドンムアン空港到着。
しかし入国審査に1時間。事前登録したTDACは全く役立たず…。
その後A4バスを待ちましたが、ネット情報では30分間隔のはずが1時間待ち。
ラッシュの影響かもしれません。
ようやく宿に到着。安いが清潔とは言い難い宿で、水シャワーに近い温度でした。
We landed at Don Mueang Airport almost on time, but immigration took an hour.
The TDAC pre-registration was useless.
Then I waited for the A4 bus, which online said runs every 30 minutes, but I waited an hour—likely due to rush hour.
Finally, I reached my hostel.
It was cheap but not very clean, with a shower barely warm.
夕食は近くの評判店でカーオカムー（豚足煮込みご飯）。
ビールは店に無かったが、近くで買ってきてくれました。
大瓶ビールが100バーツ（約500円）とバー並みの値段。
翌日コンビニで確認すると60バーツ（約300円）でした。
初日は仕方ないですね。
For dinner, I tried Khao Kha Moo (stewed pork leg on rice) at a nearby popular shop.
They didn’t have beer but bought one from a nearby store.
A large bottle cost 100 baht (about 500 yen), like bar prices.
The next day I checked at a convenience store and found it was only 60 baht (about 300 yen).
That’s the first-day premium.
移動疲れもあり、この日は早めに就寝しました。
After all the travel, I went to bed early that night.
