来週からタイ旅行に出発する予定です。余裕があればラオスにも足を延ばすかもしれません。
I'm planning to leave for Thailand next week, and if time allows, I might visit Laos too.
今日、同居人に「来週から旅行に行くから、家をよろしくね」と伝えたところ、こんな会話に。
Today, I told my roommate, “I’ll be traveling next week, so please take care of the house,” and the conversation went like this:
同居人「どこに行くの？」
Roommate: “Where are you going?”
私「タイと、余裕があればラオス」
Me: “Thailand, and maybe Laos if I have time.”
同居人「いいなー、タイに私も行きたい！」
Roommate: “Lucky you! I want to go to Thailand too!”
私「…（無言）」
Me: “…(silent)”
私「でも、パスポートの期限が切れてるでしょ？無理だよ」
Me: “But your passport’s expired, right? You can’t go.”
同居人「そうだねー…残念」
Roommate: “Yeah… too bad.”
ちょっとだけ心が痛んだけど、旅は楽しむつもりです。
I felt a tiny pang of guilt, but I’m determined to enjoy the trip.
それにしても、最近のタイの宿泊費にはびっくり。調べてみると、以前よりかなり値上がりしている印象です。
That said, I was shocked by the current accommodation prices in Thailand. They seem noticeably higher than before.
予算的に少し厳しいかも…でも、旅の醍醐味は予想外の出費も含めて。
It might be a bit tight budget-wise… but unexpected expenses are part of the adventure.
